Before & After
“The Quality of a Person’s Life is in Direct Proportion to Their Commitment to Excellence.”
Vince Lombardi
Never before in the history of the dental profession, have we had the choices of materials that we do today. The gold crowns and the porcelain fused to metal crowns have been around for almost half a century and have proved to be reliable for a long time (see metals under the Frequently Asked Question section). The gold crown is still the material of choice for those who want the longest lasting restoration dentistry has to offer and where cosmetics is of no concern. Major breakthroughs have occurred in the All Porcelain restorations and in the use of the composite restoration. The latter has been our champion for being the most conservative restoration available and has replaced the mercury filling.
Below are examples of all these types of restorations. It is important to note, that the choice of materials must be made on an individual basis and to not try to use a specific material in all cases (see the FAQ section).
